Users are assigned to Forum Groups, allowing Forum Admin and Moderators to quickly and effectively reach a broad audience within the Forum community. |

Groups can be accessed via email notification, and group-specific announcements. |
|
The Forum's Entry Page is both user and group-specific. |

Guest User |
|
Is a Non-Registered User, identified by the "Guest" Photo and Name aliases. |
|
The extent of his Forum privileges is configurable by the Forum Admininistrator. |

Lead Moderator |
|
In addition to Moderators privileges, the Lead Moderator is also listed in his Groups' email notification list. |

Each Group has only one Lead Moderator. |

Message |
|
Users can post content to discussion topics, or reply to existing messages in the Forum. |
|
In general, the term message refers to both original posts and replies to posts. |
|
Messages may include attachments, html and or plain text content. |

Is responsible for providing users with new passwords to replace lost passwords. |

Otherwise, he has the same roles as the Forum Administrator. |

Registered User |

Reads, Posts and Replies to messages in the Forum. |

Server Administrator |

Is responsible for the web server's operation. |

The Server Administrator installs panFora software and has root privileges. |

Subtopic |
|
Subtopics refer to any child element in the topics hierarchical structure. |

All lower levels in the topics hierarchy are referred to as Subtopics |
|
In Expert Mode, topics can be collapsed and expanded , to hide and show subtopics respectively. |

Task Frame |

This Admin frame displays a list of editing choices in the selected Administration Tool. |

Thread |
|
A Thread, or message thread, contains a list of messages. |
|
Each message thread has an original post, followed by a series of replies and replies to replies. |

These are presented in threaded (indented) form to easily identify a discussion flow. |
|
|
|
Threads Frame |
|
This Forum frame displays the list of message threads in a selected topic. |
|
Each message features its title, author name, date and time of posting, and attributes. |
|
|
|
Top Level Topic |
|
This is mainly an administrative term, to help you build and organize the Forum's topic structure. |
|
Top Level Topics refer to the top elements in the hierarchical structure. |
|
In Expert Mode, when all topics are collapsed, these topics remain visible. |
|
|
|
Topic |
|
A Topic, or discussion topic, contains a group of message threads with similar content. |
|
Depending on the Forum configuration, users may or may not be able to post messages to a topic. |
|
|
|
Topics Frame |
|
This Forum frame displays a list of all topics available for discussion. |
|
Includes the number of posts and date of last post in each topic. |
|
|
|
User Profile |
|
Registered users may add and edit personal information in their Forum User Profile. |
|
|
|
Viewing Mode |
|
There are two Viewing Modes in the Forum: Novice Mode and Expert Mode. |
|
This makes it easier for novice users, while giving more flexibility to expert users. |
|
Users can change their viewing mode at any time. |
